Our city has made its mark in the mountains of Western Maryland. Part of the Cumberland, MD-WV Metropolitan Statistical area, the city's population was 9,002 at the 2010 census. A town rich in mining, transportation and education heritage, there are several successful targeted industries in the area.
Home to Frostburg State University, the institution enrolled approximately 5,645 in the fall of 2014. Partnerships with local business entities are formed to create opportunity for students while retaining a skilled workforce post-graduation.
