The City of Frostburg's Public Works Department would like to notify the public of several large projects scheduled to take place this summer, including paving, gas utility, and plumbing improvements.

Columbia Gas and Utility Service Group (USG) have been working non-stop to meet their utility line replacement deadlines on the east side of town. Upon the completion of the line replacement work, the City will be coordinating with Columbia Gas to repair and repave all affected streets. This paving work is likely to take place in the June-July time frame, depending on contractor availability.

The City will also be conducting its own regularly-scheduled paving projects around town, which will also take place in the June-July time frame. The City uses a priority list to decide which streets to pave based on lifespan of the existing road, number of residents affected, and condition of the road.

Additionally, Phase IX-B and IX-C of the City's large-scale CSO (Combined Sewage Overflow) Project will begin April 18 and will continue throughout the summer. These phases of construction will take place in the areas of Beall Elementary School on East College Avenue and Frostburg State University. The CSO Project is a multi-phase infrastructure improvement project which involves updating the existing storm and sanitary sewer systems throughout the City.

Finally, a large sewer station project, also known as the Centennial Hill Pump Station, will be underway throughout the spring in the area of Lowell Avenue and Talcott Avenue.

Regular City street patching and sweeping will continue city-wide as usual.
